Enjoy a self-catering coastal retreat in a sea-view cottage on the stunning North East coast of Anglesey and you won’t be disappointed. For a start, there is an abundance of incredible beaches. Our favourites are listed here. There are rocky coves to explore, pools to paddle in and vast stretches of sand to run on. Even on a chilly day, you can warm up with a game of beach rounders and a flask of hot chocolate on the sand. Dig out those wellies and waterproofs and be ready for a day in the great outdoors. It is Visit Wales’s Year of the Outdoors after all!
It’s a brilliant time to explore the island and pick out your favourite spots. Flag up the perfect fishing spot, sunbathing cove, wave to surf or crab catching rock for when the weather is slightly warmer.
In addition to stunning beaches, there are a great number of attractions that don’t require a coat and hat. Enjoy a trip to Anglesey Sea Zoo, browse Oriel Ynys Mon, keep the children happy at Pili Palas, home to a wealth of exotic animals and butterflies. We also have a large number of fantastic pubs, cosy cafes and beachside bars that are well worth a visit. Take a look at our pages for a bit of insider advice on where to visit for a pint, a delicious cappuccino of a glass of fizz on the sand.
The idea of the Visit Wales Year of the Outdoors is to reengage and get back to nature. There is a great deal that The National Trust are putting on across the region that is well worth looking in to. With wonderful properties such as Plas Newydd, Penrhyn Castle and beautiful Bodnant Garden all within a short drive. You can be kept busy with an array of activities led by their brilliant teams with everything from mud bathing through to red squirrel spotting.
Don’t worry if you don’t have time to fit it all in, you can always pay us a visit later in the year. To view out full range of cottages and to check availability click here.
