Last updated: 17 April 2020

On 23 March 2020, Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation and issued an instruction that everyone is to remain in their homes. Any non essential travel should not be undertaken for the following three weeks.  On 16 April 2020, further government instructions were given extending the travel restrictions for a further three weeks, and the Welsh government have extended the travel restrictions until at least 31 May.

Full details of current government advice can be found here https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

We are offering any guests due to depart for their holiday before 31 May 2020 the ability to amend their booking without amendment charge to a new date either later in 2020 or on any date in 2021.

The situation is changing daily and we continue to follow guidance from the government and The Department for Health & Social Care. As a result, this page will be monitored and reviewed regularly.

We continue to review all our policies daily and are seeking advice from the government.

During these difficult times the safety of our staff and our guests is of paramount importance to us.

Understandably, we are currently receiving a significant volume of calls currently. Our team is working to support our guests with their queries and requests, and we will deal with your communications as soon as possible.

FAQ's

I have an upcoming booking - can I still go?

On 23rd March 2020, the government issued the instruction that everyone must stay at home. This instruction has now been extended to at least 31 May by Welsh Government.

Therefore, you will not be able to travel to your holiday destination until at least 1 June 2020. Supporting our guests through this period is our primary concern, and we will allow any customer impacted to amend their booking and our usual amendment fee waived.

Am I covered by travel insurance?

If you have travel insurance in place, please contact your provider. Please note, all of our properties are located in isolated communities and rural areas and we recommend seeking the latest advice before travelling.

What if I am over the age of 70 and due to go on holiday?

We are following government advice on age and travel restrictions, if you are over the age of 70 then please call and we can discuss the potential amendment to your stay with us.

Can I amend my break?

We are offering any guests due to depart for their holiday before 30 June 2020 the ability to amend their booking without amendment charge to a new date either later in 2020 or any date in 2021.

Why am I being quoted a higher price to change my dates?

The price of your current break is based on this years pricing and can change throughout the year as seasonality changes. This is a standard practice for all companies in the travel industry, as prices are generally higher where there is greater demand.

If you move your dates to a different period in 2020, or in 2021, then please bear in mind that the price may be higher or lower than the price of your current break depending on the season in which the new dates fall.  If the price is higher than the existing price of the affected break, guests will be required to pay any extra amounts arising to secure the alternative dates.  If the price is lower than the existing price of the affected break, guests will receive a refund.

School holidays do of course move annually and so for instance the same dates in 2021 may fall in a different season (and therefore different price bracket) than in 2020.

Please contact the office on 01244 732920 or e-mail info@sageandsea.co.uk to discuss your options on moving your booking to new dates and how that impacts on the price of the booking for the revised dates.

Will I receive a refund if I want to cancel my holiday?

Your contract with Sage and Sea does not provide for any refunds to be given.  However if you have travel insurance, please contact your insurer in the first instance.

Will I receive a refund if I need to self-isolate and am due to go on holiday?

If you have travel insurance, please speak to your insurance provider. If you do not have travel insurance, please call the office on 01244 732920 or e-mail info@sageandsea.co.uk to discuss your booking further.
