Anglesey Ale Trail - Saturday 30th March 2019

Visit 8 or 9 superb real ale pubs on Anglesey. Each pub has been selected based upon their warm welcome & selection of beers. Book the day off work (and Sunday ideally!) and ensure your Ale Trail companions have too. The Trail buses start running at approximately midday so you can even plan for a lie in. Wristband tickets will be available over the bar for £13 at each of the trail pubs or online here
 

 

Menai Heritage Museum and Bridges Exhibition

Thomas Telford and Robert Stephenson developed pioneering bridge designs and constructed road and rail crossings over the treacherous waters of the Menai Strait. They changed the nature of the journey between Dublin and London forever! Come and see how they did it and what happened next........ Open for 2019, throughout April, May and June. Plas Newydd runs some great events throughout the year that are suitable for all ages. 

Behind the Bothy at Plas Newydd – Wednesday 3rd April 2019

Take a behind the scenes look at what goes into caring for the stunning grounds with the Head Gardener at Plas Newydd. Meet the people who work and care for the historic garden all year round. Booking is not required, you can just meet at the Sunroom. Children are welcome as are dogs on leads.

Sporty Sundays at Plas Newydd - Sun 7 Apr, Sun 5 May, Sun 2 Jun 2019

A whole host of sporty games and activities to get the whole family outdoors and moving. You can even have a go at some archery (£1 for 6 arrows). Takes place the first Sunday of each month, April to October. Accompanied children are welcome along with dogs on leads. The bonus is that you don't need to book in advance. 

Woodland Wednesdays: Spring into action - Wednesday 10th April 2019

Spring is a magical time of year when the garden comes alive again. Learn about the tell-tale signs that nature gives at this time of year. A series of fun, family springtime nature activities led by the Wild Elements team. Go on a hunt for Spring, or start your very own nature diary. 

Woodland Wednesdays: Easter fun! Wednesday 17th April 

A series of fun, family springtime nature activities for all ages with the Wild Elements team. Go on an egg hunt to learn more about the birds who laid them; build your very own nest or paint an egg for Easter. It’s all cracking fun!  

Woodland Wednesdays: Music to my ears! – Wednesday 24th April 2019

Join Wild Elements and be a part of nature’s own orchestra here at Plas Newydd. Walk through the garden and listen as you wander, then join the team to make your very own musical instrument to take home. Booking not needed.

Cadbury Easter egg hunt Friday 19th April – Monday 22nd April 2019

Many creatures call Plas Newydd’s Garden their home; do you think you can spot and name all the footprints. Follow the clues and crack the code to claim your chocolatey prize. Dogs on leads are welcome. The hunt will begin from the Cricket Pavilion.

Crafts and Easter Hunt at Beaumaris Castle - 16th April 2019 

What would Easter be without an Easter egg hunt? Take your little ones along to Beaumaris castle and spend the day hunting for Easter Bunny. There’ll be crafts in abundance on Easter Sunday, and you’ll even get the chance to make an Easter mask. Plus, if you bring an old, clean sock you can also create a sock bunny to take away with you. It’s a great event to get those creative juices flowing and the ideal chance to have fun as a family. Prices are £6.50 per adult and £4.20 per child plus there’s also a special family ticket for £19.30 that admits two adults and up to three children.  

 

Medieval Easter Weekend – Beaumaris Castle

As well as hosting an exciting Easter egg hunt, Beaumaris Castle will also be educating their visitors over the Easter weekend with an extra-special medieval theme. 

Visitors will get the chance to dive right into the heart of the medieval period as the staff recreate exactly what life was like back when the castle was first constructed. Children can also take part in a fantastic Knight School and there will be even more arts and crafts, as well as a Birds of Prey demonstration. To round off the day, head to the fight arena and cheer for your favourite knight as they battle for victory. It’s a great day for the whole family to enjoy. A family ticket costs £19.30 and admits two adults and up to three children under 16.

The long-awaited signature event in the Anglesey food calendar.

The All Wales Boat Show and Festival of Discovery 30th May – 1st June

The two festivals combine this year on the same site to offer something for everyone. The All Wales Boat and Leisure Show is a celebratory festival of water-based and leisure park activities.
