Menai Heritage Museum and Bridges Exhibition

Thomas Telford and Robert Stephenson developed pioneering bridge designs and constructed road and rail crossings over the treacherous waters of the Menai Strait. Plas Newydd runs some great events throughout the year that are suitable for all ages. 

Every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday throughout the school summer holidays, there'll be plenty of opportunity to play at Plas Newydd.  With a wide selection of sports activities to suit all abilities and ages, the whole family can get outdoors and remember how it felt to be part of those exciting days when all that mattered was being outside and taking part.

It really doesn't matter how good you are, or how long it's been since you last picked up a hula hoop or a tennis racquet, it's all about getting outdoors and enjoying those family days, hopefully with some sunshine thrown in.   With a fantastic location and stunning views across the Menai Strait to Snowdon, Plas Newydd is a great place to make those memories together.

Beaumaris Lifeboat Day - Saturday 20th July

Beaumaris lifeboat day starts at midday and features a range of activities on the sea front, between 11.00 am and 4.00 pm. It’s a great afternoon for all the family.


Moelfre Lifeboat Day - 3rd August

The ever popular Moelfre Lifeboat Day is held every year during the month of August, and it’s well worth paying a visit. Featuring a lifeboat display, hundreds of crafts and boats, a display from the RAF Valley rescue helicopter, music, entertainment, stalls and much more.

Menai Food Festival - 3rd and 4th August

The Menai food Festival takes place in and around the town of Menai Bridge. 2019 promises to be even better this year with even more food & drink producers, craft stalls and street food stands. Admission is £3 per adult and accompanied children go free. It’s £5 for weekend tickets.

The Anglesey Show - 13th - 15th August 

This famous annual two day agricultural show has been part of the Anglesey events calendar for decades. Held on the 160 acre Anglesey Ground close to Mona Airfield, it attracts thousands who enjoy show-jumping, life-stock competitions, the fairground, trade-stands and much more. Tour de Môn - Sunday 18th August

Tour de Môn is a cycle race around the island of Anglesey. In 2018 there were over 1,000 cyclists and 2019 is set to be an even bigger event. It’s run by the event organisers Always Aim High and is set to be even more impressive this year. For more information click here.

Beaumaris Food Festival - 31st August - 1st September

Beaumaris Food Festival is set in a stunning seafront location between the historic Beaumaris Castle and the Menai Straits with the picturesque Snowdonia Mountain range providing the perfect backdrop. It’s a spectacular location that encapsulates the very essence of Wales 2019 theme The Year of Discovery. Admission is £5 per adult or £7 for both days, accompanied children go free.
